Ian Hodgson Mountain Relay 2009

A fantastic performance (as usual) from the Borrowdale team at the IHMR this year. Both the Open Mens team and the Moxed team won their category and not only that but the Mens Open Team broke the course record.

Leg One - Simon Booth & Nick Fish - A typically storming descent down the very trick 'red screes' from them both meant they were a close second at the changeover

Leg two - Jim Davies and Mark Roberts - They managed to not only win their leg but get the the leg changeover three minutes ahead of second place.

Leg Three - Chris Steele & Mike Fanning - With three minutes cushion they were nice and relaxed but manged to win the leg and add another minute to the overall lead. Mike was worried about his fitness but came through it ok!

Leg Four - Ben Bardsley & Morgan Donnelly - On paper, this was an unbeatable team......and it was true....they won their leg and they added yet more time to the lead.

We won by over 8 minutes and broke the course record...There are certainly improvements to be made so expect another record breaking performance next year!
