Inov-8 High Cup Nick 2010

Morgan Donnelly, along with his gang of helpers, did a fantastic job of organising the 2010 Inov8 High Cup Nick Fell Race in what were far from ideal conditions on the fell.

It was a cold day and there was a lot of snow on the course which was very deep in places. This coupled with blustery wind in the nick and many boggy sections meant that running fast was difficult. Morgan had done a great job of marking the course and digging steps in the snow to help runners.

It was an excellent turnout for this race which is increasing in popularity (perhaps because of the nice course or the tea, cakes and soup provided at the end!) and getting 145 runners was particularly good especially when it clashed with the 1st round of the English Championships.

I'm not sure of the results from the Junior Races but they seemed to be as popular as the senior race.

Borrowdale managed to take the Mens team prize with Chris Steele (1st), Nick Fish (2nd) and Steve Birkinshaw (5th).The official results are now here. Sharon Schofield (84th) had an excellent run to win the V40 ladies category.
